SICIS STORY
Our story begins in 1987 when, with a visionary spirit and resourcefulness, Maurizio Leo Placuzzi founded SICIS in Ravenna, Italy. The name itself is a promise: from the Latin Sic Immensos Clarosque Inceptos Somniavi, it alludes to the dream of seeing great work that everyone will recognize.
It all started with mosaics. And the mosaics by SICIS brought great international success. One of the most famous hotels, the Ritz in Paris, chooses us for its beautiful indoor spa; mosaic floors and decorations adorn the Bellagio Resort, the Wynn Casino, and the Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas. SICIS leaves an indelible mark in the United Arab Emirates when the architect Khuan Chew chooses the company's mosaics for the most luxurious hotel in the world: the Burj Al Arab.
We soon began to expand, reaching all five continents, but our journey into the world of the interior didn't stop to the mosaic. Jewellery and watches collection was born.
Next came SICIS Interiors with the desire to create complete environments, furnishings, lights, and fabrics.
After over 30 years of constant evolution, we continue to write our history with the same visionary spirit and the same resourcefulness.
JEWELLERY
The never-ending search for new experiences along with our passion for the mosaic brought us to study the micromosaic technique and its application in the goldsmith art within history.
Since then we started creating bewitching jewels, where creativity merges with technique in a kaleidoscope of tiny fragments of minerals, gold, and gemstones.
Nowadays, under the creative direction of Gioia Placuzzi, we are making our way in the world.
We've created a line of high jewellery, a line of pret-a-porter jewels and watches. We've opened 3 single-brand boutiques and a selected network of dealers in different countries.
We've started important collaborations and projects and we're spreading the word on our jewels and our technique. We are proud to start this new collaboration and have Julia Castelli LIfestyle Management as one of our brand ambassadors, based in London but operating globally.
We never stop, always looking forward to what's next.
MOSAIC
Every now and then we like to give the numbers: 8 formats, 16 finishes for more than 900 different tiles. Only of glass mosaic. Then there is marble, metal, even wood. An entire universe at our disposal that makes us inimitable and allows us to get everything we want, whether it's a solid color wall or a pixel or artistic decoration. And it is not just appearance.
We have embarked on a path that has led us to achieve important certifications in the field of quality, safety, and sustainability, supporting the Biophilia concept.
SICIS enters the Guinness World Record thanks to the project created for the Mahmood Saeed Oasis Mall in Jeddah: 42,000 square meters of mosaic decorations make it the largest mosaic in the world.
Through these small fragments of matter, we give life to a world and we give shape to dreams.
INTERIORS
Following our vision of harmonious interiors, we created our own collection of furniture and an interior design division. Born from the desire to create unique and perfectly coordinated environments, our furnishings flaunt a timeless elegance, seasoned with the creative flair that has always distinguished us.
In fact, there is a lot of SICIS inside every single piece. From the choice of materials with which they are made, which often combine wood and metal with glass or mosaic. To their design, which tells of geometries, intricate motifs, or soft sinuous curves.
Each piece is designed to blend perfectly with the elements that surround it.
